With 20 years of experience in education and a passion for helping women fulfill their purpose, I bring compassionate, Spirit-led guidance to women ready to grow in faith and confidence, and then in turn, share with others.

Is Rise Up Daughter right for me?

Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t.  That’s why we encourage a consultation before getting started with the sessions.  It’s important for the mentor and mentee to be the right fit.  After the initial meeting (which includes looking at schedules), both parties must prayerfully conclude that they would like to proceed with the mentorship.

What’s the timeline?

The suggested timeline is one meeting per week for four weeks, roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour per session.

What’s required of me as a mentee?

Most importantly, your undivided attention and willing participation during your sessions. This program is intended to be for women who desire to grow spiritually. If that is not something that interests you, it may not be a good fit for you at this time.

After you have been through the program, we ask that you consider serving as a mentor to someone else. Of course this is completely up to you, but we feel strongly that 2 Timothy 2:2 is meant for us all: “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.”

Why should I become a mentor?

It can be hard to share your faith. Using the “Rise Up Daughter” program gives you an opportunity to practice sharing your faith with someone who is interested in growing in her journey as a believer. Many women do not have an opportunity to share their life with someone who is simply there for them without asking something in return. This gives you a wonderful chance to practice discipleship, but with a plan. There is no prep required, no additional reading or materials – just show up ready to support her in her walk.

What would be required of me as a mentor?

➡️ To be intentional about growing your own faith (you cannot lead others where you have not been yourself)
➡️ Willingness to share your time and unique perspective with another person (and hopefully more than one!)
➡️ Commitment to staying Scripture and prayer focused
➡️ A non-judgmental approach, willing to listen and provide support and encouragement
➡️ Confidentiality with regards to what your mentee shares, with the exception of concerns of safety of the mentee or others.
➡️ Be reliable with your mentee – do your very best to stick to the schedule you set.
➡️ To regularly pray for your mentee and her spiritual growth and to encourage her in her faith

What if I’m not knowledgable enough?

At Rise Up Daughter we believe that you don’t have to be a trained theologian to share your faith in a meaningful way with others. We have created a collection of materials based on specific passages from the Bible to give you a starting point for conversation with your mentee that has potential to point them more towards Christ. You don’t need to stress about knowing the right thing to say. Pray, read, ask questions, and encourage your mentee to dig deeply into the passage and how it relates to her life, and you a living, breathing example of 2 Timothy 2:2.

One of the most important aspects of this program is to stick to the passage of the session. This takes the pressure off of you to know and reference other parts of the Bible, and also helps new believers not feel the overwhelm that can come along with looking up multiple passages (many of us have been there). Since the meeting time in this program is so brief and the passages we have chosen are filled with valuable lessons we encourage you to keep your focus on the set of verses provided for that session.
